Setting teams up to do their best work yet.

I'm on a mission to make everybody fully powerful at work.

And teams are where individuals work and play.

So let's go to where the action is and create the highly-effective teams you need to achieve  your big goals.

Head + Heart
Purposeful + Fun

Art + Science
Confident + Humble

Feeling + Doing
Inspiring + Achievable
Dreaming + Taking Action

Caring for one another + Accountable to one another
Reflecting on learning + Making progress together
Enjoyment + Results

Throughout my career, I have been privileged to be in positions in which I was able to positively influence the experience of others. I want more people to have work experiences they can reflect on with pride, and to feel they are in an environment that nurtures their ability to make their own unique contributions. Everyone deserves to be fully powerful at work.

And that's not just about us all feeling good at work (though that is important!) Organizations will only get closer to the impact they want to have in the world when their team members feel more fully engaged, fulfilled, connected and fully powerful.

I use my both/and approach to make these aspirations come to life.

If you know in your bones that relationships and culture are built in the doing of meaningful work together, and in the choices we make about how to do that work, and in the spark that gets ignited when humans make positive progress together, we’re probably a match.

I've had a 20 year career in public education, with leadership roles at a large urban school district, national nonprofits, and an education strategy and policy consulting firm, before starting my own practice, Kochab Advising.

I apply my experiences as a leader and consultant to help mission-aligned organizations make and sustain progress.

I've been at the leadership tables.

I've been a consultant and advisor to the C-suite.

I've seen us keep trying the same way of doing things and feeling deflated when we get the same results.

I've seen us chase after the next shiny thing, to dizzying effect for our staff.

I've seen us try technical fixes to challenges that require adaptive solutions.

+

I've helped us bravely try something new and either make progress or learn from the experience.

I've experienced the elation that comes from making progress together and building the habits that can sustain it.

And I've translated this experience into a thriving practice for your benefit.

Oh, and I’m a triple threat: Teacher, Coach, and Next-Level Facilitator.

As a certified Master Workshopper and Facilitator, I apply my knowledge of the theory and research-based tools and techniques that make collaboration easier and better.

As a student of The Art of Gathering and Liberating Structures, I create meaningful, human-centered, and purposeful experiences that uniquely serve the needs of my clients.

As an External Facilitator, I design experiences that help teams reflect on routines, solve problems, and design solutions.

As an Executive Coach, I support leaders to name their own aspirations for where they want to be, help them chart the course to get there and provide actionable recommendations that push your practice.

As a solopreneur, I have the privilege of choosing what I work on, and it shows in the energy, brains and heart I bring to my work.

If I have partnered with you, it means I admire and believe in the work you do, and so I’ll only be satisfied when I am helping you win, whatever winning means to you.

How did I get here?

What my clients say

"When our strategic planning process hit a critical juncture, we turned to Amanda, and it turned out to be a game-changer. With our newly reorganized leadership team, Amanda not only grasped our organizational context but also crafted a dynamic agenda for a 2-day leadership retreat. Her facilitation skills were nothing short of elegant and responsive, allowing us to solidify working agreements, prioritize next steps, and chart a course for engaging with our entire staff.

Amanda's post-retreat report provided clear guidance on translating our new commitments into action. The positive impact was unanimous among attendees, with everyone highlighting the productivity of the time spent.

We continued to work with Amanda through follow-up meetings, and she was instrumental in keeping us on track. Impressed by the ongoing success, we enlisted her to facilitate our 3-day all-staff retreat. Working behind the scenes with Amanda is seamless, drama-free, proactive, and dependable. She strikes the perfect balance between offering recommendations and being flexible and accommodating. In one word, it's 'delightful.'

Amanda is more than an external partner; she's intuitive, responsive, disciplined, and engaging. Easy to work with, she prioritizes what matters most to the client, fostering collaboration and support. And, beyond her professional expertise, Amanda is simply a wonderful human being."
